Hipster Cafe: BEANS DEPOT'S

INTRODUCTION

BEANS DEPOT is a Hipster cafe located at Parklane Commercial Hub, Kelana Jaya. Why the cafe named as Beans Depot because the meaning of Beans Depot is ''playground'', ''dreamland'', ''laboratory'', ''cafe'', ''lounge'' and ''training/tuition center''.

The cafe is specialized in coffee makers, in other word we can describe it as a cafe to the caffeine lovers. The staff roaster their own coffee before serve it to their customers so the coffee that they make is fresh and more delicious than other coffee.

HISTORY BACKGROUND'S

The cafe is being established in year 2015, the founder of the cafe is MDM. YIP LEONG SUM, She was really passionate about coffee and really active in the world of barista. She already won many competition and now became a judge of barista competition. Her partner is Mr Lawrence Phua who manage all of the management of the cafe and also the general manager of the cafe.

They also a coffee retailer as they sell ready make coffee in package to the customers so they can make their own coffee at home. The cafe is strives to give addiction to casual drinkers and aficionados.

MENU

Beans depot menu provide 20 types of coffee beans to suit any of coffee lovers. Not only that, now you can enjoy newly-introduced hot dishes, salad, sandwiches and desserts along with the coffee staples.

Love. Coffee

Creativity is the main element of coffees here. Apart from the popular Coffee Cocktails (RM28) in which you can choose your own elements of alcohol, here we get to enjoy the owner's specialty coffee. Beautifully presented in distinctive layers with honey as the base, followed by coffee and milk foam, the glass is rimmed with fine chocolate powder.

This sweet concoction definitely melts your heart away!

For those who are less adventurous, basic espresso-based coffee staples such as latte and long black are available at a price from RM7 to RM10.

Taiwanese Flower Tea

Non-coffee drinkers are also welcomed to gather here because this cafe serves premium flower tea where you can choose to combine up to 3 types of flower buds imported from Taiwan. Exuding delicate aroma with subtle sweetness, the lovely blend of Red Rose, Apple Flower and Violet Flower buds is good to soothe the mind and soul.

Green Salad with Smoked Salmon (Rm22)

For those who loves to eat healthy food can try this with a drizzle of homemade tangy sauce adds a nice touch to the greens. Full of health vegetables and suit to any time.(breakfast,lunch and dinner)

Breakfast club sets

The breakfast club that they serve is full of protein and health. The two double half cooked eggs with sausage and the button potatoes will make your stomach full.

Chocolate Pancake with Ice Cream and fruits.

Simple desert by mixed the smooth pancake with ice cream and fruits really a great combo for desert.

ROASTED LEVEL

The cafe also provided the level of the roaster, there are eight types of roasters coffee but the most popular one is medium light roasted beans and dark roast beans. The medium light are more complex in flavors as they possess a wonderful mix of floral and fruity notes, whereas dark roast are bitter and cheaper because it burns all of the defects of the beans.

COFFEE ROASTED MACHINE

Two roasting machine in the cafe is cost more than USD 20 ,000 each.

CAFE DECORATION & CERTIFICATE

The staff decorate the cafe using a wooden bar counter, wooden table and the environment of the cafe is relaxing, cozy and peaceful. They also decorate the cafe by hanging vintage pictures and certificate to share their achievement with the customers.

TRAINING METHOD

The cafe will train their barista under the guidance of Mdm. Yip Leong Sum, the owner of cum Malaysia and also a judge for Barista Championship.

OTHER SERVICES

Living up to its tagline of "Personalized Coffee Indulgence", customers can customize your cup of coffee based on their personal liking. Whether you love your coffee to be more fruity or smoky, the barista will surprise you with a cup of coffee that suits your preference.

Mdm. Yip Leong Sum also provide a services whereas, if you a barista who desire to open your own cafe. you can rent their bar and brew your own coffee. The cafe is all yours for your training and practice.

Weekend roasting and cupping session for the coffee enthusiasts. Unlike coffee workshops that cost a bomb, here Ms. Yip hosts free coffee sharing sessions during weekends. You can learn about the aroma and taste of coffee beans from around the world, the cupping roast protocol, and how to use different equipment's!
